Treatment for acne using IPL (Intense Pulsed Light) is becoming more and more recognised as a highly effective way to treat this condition. And as with all treatments at CMB Medispa, it is totally non-invasive. Great results can be achieved not only by clearing acne inflammation but IPL can also help reduce any facial scars which are so often a feature of having acne and can affect the colour of your skin and create uneven pigmentation. However, please be aware that IPL is not effective at smoothing out raised scars or acne indentations.
The burst of light from the IPL probe helps in destroying the common bacteria responsible for acne, which subsequently clears the skin. In only a couple of sessions, you will start to see your improvements and your skin will be clearer. The amount of treatments you will require depends on the type of treatment that you are having and the surface area of the skin. As a general guideline you may need about 4 - 6 treatments, once every two weeks.
When you come for a consultation I will fully and honestly explain the expected outcome of your acne treatment. And of course, I will carefully assess your skin type and tailor your treatment accordingly.
You'll feel a mild stinging sensation as each pulse of light from the IPL probe hits the targeted area. But it is in no way unbearable! And remember, IPL treatments are totally non-invasive.
Acne is a common skin concern across all ages. Although acne primarily impacts teenagers, bad lifestyles and medical conditions can cause acute acne in adults. At CMB Medispa, we will help you eliminate unwanted acne and scarring with our excellent laser acne treatment in Plymouth.
People with mild to moderate acne respond best to laser therapy. It is also ideal for those who have tried standard therapies like lotions and antibiotics with little to no success. At my clinic, I ensure you receive the safest treatment by using Intense Pulsed Light to treat acne.
Intense Pulsed Light (IPL) therapy, or photo rejuvenation, is a non-invasive and non-surgical skin treatment method that is commonly used to treat pigmented cells and scars left behind by acne, age spots, large visible pores, and melasma. The IPL functions by flashing a laser that aids in eliminating the typical acne-causing bacteria and clearing the skin. While results may depend on your skin type and acne severity, the treatment usually shows results after a few sessions.
To ensure a comprehensive experience, I also offer an initial consultation to all my clients. This consultation allows you to discuss your requirements and allows me to closely examine your skin type for a successful treatment. I will also review your medical history to ensure you are suitable for the treatment. After your treatment, I’ll provide you with a personalised aftercare plan for the best results.
